Hitting the Ceiling

Yet again, I was down in the car park this morning getting the ladder we keep there to get Mrs Smith down from among the light fittings and ceiling fan.

Imagine my surprise, well lack of it, when I was told it was due to something coming from the office of that Guru of the City, AKA The Master, AKA Doc, and by most people AKA “Oh him, what’s his name again?” 

It would appear that a certain ex-nurse had dipped into her copy of ‘Slagging Off An Opposition Party for Dummies’ and come up with the less than bright idea of launching yet another vaccine attack on Tsai-san. 

To be honest, this line is starting to smack a bit of panic, and the realization that there is little to criticize the Government on about the pandemic. This time, she pointed out that Taiwan was not immunising under 12-year olds. 

When confronted on the matter, she came back with a massive non-zinger by pointing to a newspaper article saying some pharmaceutical companies were looking at vaccines for the under 12s but that all this was still in a development phase. Er…..looking…. In a development phase?  

Now I may not be the sharpest knife in the kitchen drawer, but that kind of begs the question if something is in development. How can you say countries are actually lining up kids and sticking needles in their arms.

I looked around and the only thing I could find was that China has approved emergency use (note the use of Emergency Use) of Sinovac Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccine in people aged between three and 17. 

I looked further and really could not find any evidence of countries actually vaccinating young children against Covid. 

Maybe said nurse has other evidence. If so, please publish it as it’s BIG news. 

Quite frankly, it’s worrying that an ex-head nurse doesn’t know the difference between healthcare products in development and those that have been approved.

It’s just as well she has apparently found another way to make a living as I’d not like to entrust her to my kid’s health, or mine come to that. 

What also troubles me is this kind of idiotic Yah-boo sucks attempt at playing a political game by morons who don’t know what they are doing that is not only dangerous, but a worryingly growing trend in Taiwan. 

Like a high-wire act. Only a dimwit with a bloated sense of their own importance would attempt such a thing if they were not an expert. 

Likewise politics. If you are to indulge in politics, first you should make sure you don’t immediately contradict what you are saying. 

Maybe I should ask the publishers if they would like me to write an update for Tips for Political Opposition for Dummies. It might be worth a few bob.

《又氣到衝上天花板了！》

今天早上我又得到大樓地下室停車場，把我們放在那裡的梯子拿上樓，以便將怒氣沖天的史密斯太太從天花板的燈具和吊扇中拉下來。

當我的太太告訴我，也就是這個城市大師 aka 師父 aka 醫師 aka 哦他呀那個誰的陣營又出了什麼事的時候，你可以想見我的驚訝，但其實說真的，我完全不驚訝。

好像是他的陣營裡某位護理師把她的頭埋進那本《如何攻擊政敵之白痴指南》，結果她推出了一個不太聰明的想法，就是再度對蔡桑發動疫苗攻擊。 

老實說這個攻擊點出他們有點不知所措，因為他們似乎意識到沒有什麼可以批評政府的防疫政策了，於是她暗示台灣沒有疫苗給12歲以下的兒童。

當有人質疑她的言論時，她報以蒼白無力的反擊，就是指著一篇新聞報導說，一些製藥公司正在研究如何為 12 歲以下的兒童施打疫苗，這一切都還在測試階段，呃……你看…… 處於測試階段。

好吧，我承認我可能不是廚房抽屜裡最鋒利的那把刀，不是什麼聰明絕頂的人，但如果你說有什麼東西正在研發中，你就該好好想一下那是什麼意思，能說是一些國家正在把這些孩子叫來排隊，在他們的手臂上扎一針嗎？

我環顧四周，唯一能找到的例子是中國已批准為 3 至 17 歲的人緊急（注意這是緊急使用）施打 Sinovac Biotech 的 COVID-19 疫苗。再進一步查看，除此之外我沒有看見證據其他國家已經在為兒童接種 Covid 疫苗。

也許這位護理師有其他證據，如果是這樣就應該趕快發布，因為那可是大新聞。

坦白說這是令人擔憂的，一名前護理師不知道醫療產品尚在研發階段與已獲批准之間的區別。幸好她已經找到了另一種謀生方式，因為如果我有孩子的話，我可不想把他們的健康託付給她。

同樣讓我煩惱的是，一些蠢蛋推出中二政治把戲，而他們根本不知道自己在做什麼。這不僅危險，也是令人擔憂的趨勢。

就像是走高空繩索的表演，如果不是專家就不該貿然嘗試，只有把自己的重要性膨脹到無限大的笨蛋，才會嘗試空中走繩。

政治也是一樣的，如果你要沉迷於政治，首先你應該確保你不會立即反駁你自己所說過的事。

也許我應該問問出版商，他們是否希望我為他們重寫一本《反對黨技巧之白痴指南》，這可能可以幫他們賺幾個錢。
